Wooden Planks at Bantay Bell Tower
I took a day to roam around the city of Vigan and went to the usual spots of interest, one of them is the Bantay bell tower just outside of Vigan, Bantay is a term that means to "guard", it's a remarkable structure on a top of a mound and when you climb up you see an unobstructed view of the surroundings, perfect for the watchman of olden times... It is an old structure and the steps are made of thick wooden planks, I noticed the vandalism on it and I found it interesting so I took a photo.
Great angle for this photo. It is sad to see the vandalism! I like your observation about wanting to live forever and leaving a mark.
