Taiwan Taiwan! The Sights!

The eye is definitely the first sense to please, and during our trip to Taiwan, 

it was definitely eye candy, food immediately comes afterwards though :)

But being a tourist, everything was interesting to me, and I say everything! 

Here are some of the things we saw as went around the city.

The Taiwan 101 was the first thing I thought about when we arrived, 

and it was indeed an impressive sight, 

especially as the peak occasionally hides in the clouds.

 

There are a lot of parks around, it seems like the senior citizens hang around here a lot,

Taiwan Taiwan! The Food!

In the list of the things I love, somewhere on top are traveling, eating and taking photographs, so when the group decided to have a trip to Taiwan I was excited! Our trip was guided by Vincent “Tasheng” Lao whom during the trip had us convinced that he was more Filipino than Taiwanese, since in most places he brought us to was also his first time to be there also.

One thing I love about Taiwan is their food, the variety in the night markets are a feast to the palate if you know which stalls to pick, from stinky tofu to fried chicken chops the choices seem limitless, and since you walk from one stall to the other carrying your food with you it made shooting and eating quite a challenge, so for the very first time I packed my camera and just let my taste buds loose!

With just a 5 minute walk from the hostel we were staying in is the Raohe St. Night Market, here we start our quest to satisfy the taste!

Taiwan Taiwan! The First Day!

There's fun in going out of town with a group, one thing for sure, its a good opportunity for me to relax and not think about making an itinerary, secondly, I don't have to stress about making any decisions, just go with the flow, last year we went on a group trip to taiwan for some sight seeing and food trippin' yep, one delight we all hoped for was the many food offerings taiwan has to offer! Of course I'm gonna show more than just food, pictures here will show the places we've been to during our trip, mostly basic tourist spots, but fun nevertheless!

Here's our first day:

We got there past midnight, we were able to book a nice hostel in advance, very spacious and clean and the people were nice, its called "The Meeting Place". We settled in and took a quick snooze to regain some energy for the day.

 First day comes and we set out on foot to the most famous spot in Taiwan...

Lonelyness on Display

Loneliness on Display

I felt bad for the chicken, I felt it's loneliness and I wished it was with it's fellow "chickens on display", I wanted to order it so that it won't feel lonely, but I was waiting for my friends for a buffet dinner. Sorry chicken I hope you find companion soon.

Take Me Home

Tiendesitas is one of the shopping hubs that has an area that sells pets, most people shop here looking for a furry companion, others pass here just to look at the ones on display, either way, the pets look on in curiosity hoping the next passerby will be the one to take them home.

Shooting blind?

Last sunday I went walking around Chinatown with some friends for a photowalk, but this time with a little challenge, for the whole morning of shooting I should not rely on the LCD to check the exposure and the white balance, and instead just focused on what is happening around me, it's a discipline I have neglected for quite a while but it's something I hope to bring back and teach other shooters.

After shooting we headed off to fill our tummies, rest our legs, and chit chat, me of course am excited to check the shots, these are the shots that came out, no edits, just resized. I'm happy.
